It’s
important that you set up your personal fundraising
page at the same time
as you register so you can immediately begin receiving
donations in your name. However, there are a few fundraising
guidelines you should know so you can answer questions
asked of you by your potential donors.
- Donations can be made via secure online
pledging at your personalized fundraising page or
a form that can
be printed from your page and then mailed to the
CCAF office. The address is on the printable donation
form.
- All donations are fully tax-deductible to the
extent of the law. Donors who make an online contribution
will receive confirmation via email. Donors who mail
their contributions to CCAF will receive confirmation
via postal mail. If someone loses their confirmation
letter, they can request another copy by calling
the CCAF office at (916) 448-1110.
- You can take cash or check
donations directly from your family and friends,
and then fill out the
pledge
form later and mail it into our office. Checks need
to be made out to “Capital City AIDS Fund” and
include your name in the memo line. Never refuse
a donation, unless it comes with unacceptable conditions!
- Some donors may wish to make a large contribution
and spread the payment out in monthly increments.
This
option is only available to people making on-line
donations.
- Check your fundraising progress frequently via
your Kintera fundraising page. You can find out who
donated,
and use the address they entered to send them a message
of appreciation.
- You should be prepared to answer
any questions your potential donors may have about
how to fill out the
donation form, methods of payment, and how the
funds will be used.
[Please see below for deadline information]

Deadline Aim
to meet your $200 or $1500 fundraising minimum by 5pm
on Monday, May 14th, 2007. You can bring any remaining
donations to Orientation on the evening of
May 16th, 2007 to have them credited to your account.
In order to participate in the 2007
NCAC as a cyclist, you must have raised at least $750
in donations
by Orientation on May 16th, 2007.
Cyclists who have raised at least $750 but have not
reached $1500, will be required to self-pledge the
difference between their total and $1500. Once you
return from the event, you will be given a one month
grace period to continue fundraising so that you can
have some or all of your self-pledged amount refunded
to you.
If you find yourself having
difficulty with fundraising, be sure to contact your
mentor, who can
offer advice and encouragement. Please don’t
wait until only a few days remain before the event
to do this!
Once you’ve
reached your minimum fundraising requirement, please continue fundraising!
Any additional donations mean more dollars for the fight against
HIV and AIDS services in our communities.

hope at all.
